The 20th Agri-tech exhibition took place from 7th to 12th May 2018, the activities of the event included conference and exhibition of Agricultural technologies, innovation and food processing. Israel is the world’s leading Country in numerous aspects of agricultural technology, particularly those associated with farming in arid conditions. The delegates visited an organic farm which offered them an opportunity to view new technology of irrigation at work, and a variety of Greenhouses from simple small holders green house to advanced green house for extreme climate. The farm is an organic agricultural project, managing different agricultural systems such as greenhouse, hydroponic crops, open – field crops, fruit- trees, aquaculture, goat dairy farm and free – range eggs production. The delegates also had an opportunity to tour the Holy city of Jerusalem.


1) There should be laws and policies in place to support local farmers in Tana River County

2) The County department of Agriculture should support farmers in initiating greenhouse projects.

3) The County Government should support bee keeping.

4) The County Government should invest in modern farm equipment so that farmers can adopt new farming methods to maximize production and reduce labor and cost.

5) The County Government should provide farmers with top quality hybrid seeds for high crop yield and quality.

6) The County department of livestock should train livestock keepers on modern livestock keeping methods.
