The County Assembly Committee on Water, Energy, Environment and Natural Resources held public participation for the Tana River Count Climate Change Bill, 2021 on Thursday, 1st July 2021 at Millenium Hall in Hirimani Ward, Paula Guest House in Chewani Ward and Marijani Hotel in Garsen West Ward.The purpose of the bill is to put in place the framework and mechanisms for mobilization and facilitation of the county government, communities and other stakeholders to respond effectively to climate change through appropriate adaptation and mitigation measures and actions.
The County Assembly Committee on Water, Energy, Environment and Natural Resources carried out a public participation exercise on the Tana River County Sustainable Charcoal Production Bill, 2021 on Friday, 2nd July 2021 at Sala, Wayu and Kipini West Wards.The bill is aimed at promoting sustainable charcoal production by providing guidelines on the legal requirements for producers, transporters and traders engaged in the charcoal business and ensuring forest and environmental conservation.
Tana River County Government Budget Estimates for the FY 2021/22 were presented to the County Assembly on 30th April, 2021 and tabled on the floor of the House on 4th May, 2021 pursuant to section 130 (1) of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012.The estimates were subsequently committed to the County Budget and Appropriations Committee (BAC) for onward consideration.
